And then I saw a coworker with one after moving to England, while working on an assembly line in a factory! And that brought the memories and desire for one back again. I was working somewhere I don't need to talk to the public, it won't be "controversial" there (and after a few weeks, the piercing bar will be replaced with a smaller one, or replaceable even with a flat clear plate once fully healed in a few months!)... it was time to have this done! The timing was right, let's do this!
And so, on September 6, 2024, I had my tongue pierced at Black Heart Tattoo Studio. And I was happy ^_^
The blue line visible in the first pic will wear off after a few days, it was what marked where to pierce. You can see how long the bar actually is, like... an inch long in total! This is, of course, to give the tongue room to swell up if/when it needs to over the first few weeks before the smaller bar is put in. And so, I get to awkwardly eat (no special considerations here, I was just told to eat whatever I'm comfortable eating, just swish with alcohol-free mouthwash three times a day) with an inch long metal bar in my mouth for the next little while lol.
