Friction sucks
Little note on this particular comic strip. The reason I figured he'd get stuck is because, it'd seem that his claws are basically what he's using to attack Samus. And given that he's a comparatively hard enemy, they'd have to be pretty sharp. Hence why it's digging into the dry ground.
