And there's your answer for everyone wondering why Kraid wasn't sadder. That, and I'm sure being cooped up in a room for 18 years probably gave him great emotional control to avoid going insane.
And for the record, Samus' hair will ALWAYS be green in here. Varia, missiles, it doesn't matter. 1. It's Zebeth. 2. Kabs has added minor variations to the physics engine in here, and 3. given the existance of Kabs herself (as well as the sign in the background of this strip), more colours are available in Zebeth than in Zebes, thusly eliminating the problem of the system not having the capability of showing more colours at any given time. So in conclusion, due to the changes Kabs has made to the system, as well as the fact that they're in an emulator entirely different than the original location of Zebes, Samus is capable of having her perma-green hair colour. Note: I chose varia-green instead of varialess-brown because I like it more, and it was the first colour I ever saw her hair in.

I was stuck in a single room for 18 years! So was Ridley. We both figured we'd die in there, so we made a pact that if one of us died, the other wouldn't break down or fall apart, but would keep on going and never look back!

Metroid, Samus, Kraid, and the rest of 'em are all property of Nintendo, who to my knowledge wouldn't do anything such as sue me or shut poor Planet Zebeth down, because they're so damn nice, and Metroid kicks ass : }
