Zirgu Diena?

Yeah, I couldn't come up with a good title for the comic, so I looked up what holidays are on January 17th (the day this particular comic was completed). It appears that damn near the only one in the world was called "Zirgu Diena", which was apparently some holiday in Ancient Latvia. A festival was held on January the 17th, the "day of horses", or Zirgu Diena.

The more you know.

On a completely unexpected and random note however... January 17th 2008 also appears to have been the day that Bobby Fischer passed away. If you don't know who he is, he was arguably one of the greatest chess grandmasters alive. A little bit messed up later on, and maybe a little unstable in general... but I'll always think of him as 'that friggin' awesome chess player'. Seriously... if you've never seen the movie "Searching for Bobby Fischer", go rent or download it now or something. DO IT NOW!

Mwahahaha... Geruta... do you know what day it is?
Well, given we dwell underground COMPLETELY cut off from an outside source of light, combined with the fact that days don't actually have any kind of conceptual difference from one to the next... no, I can honestly say that I do not know what day it is.
.........
It was a rhetorical question... smartass.
Well jeeze, you ask a stupid question... c'mon. The only way I know that time actually passes down here is the fact that I'm not friggin' frozen in place!
...Smartass.

Metroid, Samus, Kraid, and the rest of 'em are all property of Nintendo, who to my knowledge wouldn't do anything such as sue me or shut poor Planet Zebeth down, because they're so damn nice, and Metroid kicks ass : }
This particular comic strip was made solely by me, by that happy little program known as KolourPaint. Yes, the one that everyone runs in fear from. That's why the comic looks the way it does.
